AboutSarasota Memorial Health Care System:

Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System, an 839-bed regional medical center, is the among the largest acute-care public health systems in Florida. With more than 6,000 staff and over 700volunteers, it is one of Sarasota County's largest employers. A community hospital founded in 1925, Sarasota Memorial is governed by the nine-member elected Sarasota County Public Hospital Board. It is a full-service health system, with specialized expertise in heart, vascular, cancer, and neuroscience services, as well as a network of outpatient centers, long-term care, and rehabilitation among its many programs. Sarasota Memorial is the only provider of Level II trauma services, obstetrical services and Level III neonatal intensive care in Sarasota County.


Full-Time & Per Diem

The Expressive Therapist provides expressive arts therapies and psycho-educational groups in the PHP/IOP programs for patients with mental illness and/or substance abuse disorders. Provides input for the treatment team to assist patients in reaching their recovery goals. Supplies recommendations for client's aftercare plan.


-Require Certified ArtTherapist by the Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB

-Require a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a psychiatric and/or substance abuse setting.

-Require current State of Florida licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed MentalHealth Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Mental Family Therapist (LMFT) or psychologist.


Full-Time & Per Diem

Provides outpatient psychotherapy utilizing evidence-based practices and clinical expertise based on a thorough psychosocial and diagnostic assessment. Completes individualized treatment patients with the client and monitors treatment goals to adjust treatment approaches accordingly. Performs utilization reviews with insurance companies to obtain authorization for treatment. Shares community resources to the client to support ongoing recovery. May facilitate outpatient therapy groups to meet the needs of clients as well as providing coverage in the PHP/IOP programs. Adheres to established standards of care in order to ensure the effective accomplishment of the psychiatric care service.

Behavioral Health Therapists - (Partial Hospital & Intensive Outpatient Programs)

Full-Time & Per Diem

Facilitates group therapy utilizing therapies such as DBT and CBT. Completes intake assessment for the appropriate level of care and engages the client in the treatment program. Executes individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and the client to establish goals for recovery and transition to outpatient counseling. Provides psychotherapy and educational services for clients and family members. Plans and completes discharge/aftercare plans to address individual client needs. Adheres to established standards of care in order to ensure the effective accomplishment of the multidisciplinary psychiatric care service.


-Require Florida licensures Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Certified AddictionProfessional (CAP) with a minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience may substitute for the required license.

-Require a Master's degree in a psychiatric related field.

-Require two (2) years of experience in a psychiatric related setting.

-Require the ability to obtain a level 2 AHCA clearance.
