We are seeking compassionate and positive Licensed Professional Counselor Associate to provide therapeutic support for service users with mental health, behavioral health and substance abuse issues.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate with RHA, you will coordinate and monitor the array of services and supports identified in each service user’s person-centered plan. These interventions are strength-based and focus on the promotion of recovery, symptom reduction, increased coping skills and the achievement of the highest level of social functioning. You will report to the Clinical Director and may manage two or more employees.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor with RHA, your responsibilities will vary based on the groups you work with and the programs through which you provide services. In all activities, you will coordinate closely with the interdisciplinary team to best help service users, including behavioral health specialists, registered nurses, quality assurance specialists, paraprofessionals and the Clinical Director.
Additional responsibilities of the Licensed Professional Counselor include:
Works closely with other clinical/professional staff to maintain communication and provide feedback, standardize procedures and expedite PCP implementation .
Participates team meetings on a monthly basis to provide consultation and support in matters of clinical care .
Coordinates care with other agency staff and outside providers as indicated.
Ensures that all initial and reauthorizations for services occur in a timely fashion. Provides timely and accurate information when requesting authorizations from the LME/Statewide Vendor and follows up on each
Request for Authorization modified, not approved, and/or not responded to.
Our ideal Licensed Professional Counselor Associate is an excellent communicator and listener with strong therapeutic skills who works well as part of an interdisciplinary team and runs open and productive therapy sessions. You must also excel at behavioral interviewing techniques to uncover service user needs and be able to anticipate these needs.
Additional requirements for the Licensed Professional Counselor Associate include:
Licensed Clinical Professional Associate is defined as an individual who is: (a) an individual who holds a provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served; the QP function may be completed by a Certified Clinical Addiction Specialist (CCAS) or Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS); or (b)the individual must meet the requirements for continuing education to maintain licensure.
