Vice President, Global Lodging Connectivity & Solutions
Connectivity Management is a key revenue unlock for Expedia Group and is important to our overall company success. Expedia Group is a seeking an innovative, technical and strategic thinker and leader, to guide and empower the Lodging Strategic Partner Technology & Connectivity Solutions account management team.
This VP will work with internal, customer-facing and product management leaders to identify new product features that are highly scalable, flexible and resilient technology solutions to solve partners’ business problems. The yield will further accelerate the adoption of Expedia Group product and services and create a suite of differentiated features that elevate the travel experience.
As the leader of this global solutions team, this VP will have the opportunity to frame and execute an end-to-end strategy to enable mindshare growth and broader use of Expedia Group solutions with lodging partners inclusive of independent vacation rental operators to large global chains. This VP will work alongside senior leadership globally to develop and execute Expedia’s next generation API/Connectivity strategy, including crafting unique, high value partnerships across the lodging connectivity value chain and open source solutions for partners to develop their own integration to Expedia Group. This executive will be adept at interaction, collaboration and connecting with other teams across Expedia Group as well as representing the team to executive management.
A strong preference will be for this executive to be in an Expedia Office including but not limited to Seattle HQ, Austin, San Francisco, Chicago or possibly Dallas as they are Expedia’s largest domestic locations.
What you’ll do:
Develop next-generation Connectivity and API solution offerings
Oversee the development of market and solution use cases for new and existing offerings
Have an eye toward the future and invest significant time in defining solution concepts and the solution line extensions
Rely on and enable, Product Managers, Account Managers/Directors and Operation Teams to help determine specific features, services packages, business processes, go to market programs, packaging, pricing, launch plans and sales methodologies for the offering(s)
Assume accountability for the execution and business performance of the solution roadmap
Proactively identify areas of opportunity and improvement in all technical and operational aspects of the solution, initiates action plans to address those areas, contributes hands-on to executing the plans and follows through on the results to ensure business cases for the offering are met
Convey the solution vision to internal and external stakeholders
Invest significant time externally articulating the vision of their solution to employees, customers, partners, analysts, industry bodies and other influencers
Foster a culture of innovation and team, delivering best-in-class product solutions that solve real consumer issues
Be the expert and evangelist for consumer-first product innovation across the organization
Passionate about consumer-centricity around ideation, design, test and delivery of products and experiences
Drive revenue by leading Expedia’s Global Lodging Connectivity team and owning the success of the department by meeting or exceeding all targets and performance metrics
Develop methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people
Create effective processes, leveraging tools and resources to scale your businesses
Guide, educate and nurture a team of up and coming leaders to own their product P&L, lifecycle, understand consumer insights, and use research and analytics to help influence consumer solutions and experiences
Provide business planning guidance and counsel to senior management to support overall company objectives
Engage senior leaders and executives in industry, clearly articulating the customer and product experience vision, desired functionality, and measures of success
Who you are:
12+ years experience in a commercial, client services, sales or GM role focusing on strategy, client requirements and scaling solutions, on a global or multi-country level/scale
Previous background of product and/or engineering leadership within a high-tech company focusing on APIs (development and integration) would be advantageous
Combined experience of product and sales, business development or professional services innovation and leadership focusing on technology trends
Successful day to day operations of a large global team to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and scalability including building reporting and managing metrics
Startup spirit focusing on execution of new products, deals or contracts
Experience collaborating with sales/account management teams to drive customer satisfaction, exceed customer expectations, create and execute business plans to accelerate the adoption of Expedia Group tools and exceed revenue goals
Undergraduate degree ideal, advanced degree in related area preferred
Entrepreneurial spirit and outlook towards products, solutions and creative problem solving
Exceptional solutioning and active listening skills
Strong communication skills and executive presence non-negotiable
