As an Infrastructure Delivery Lead you will be responsible for delivering and on-boarding Consulting assets into I&P’s AWS and GCP cloud ecosystems. Given the nature of the business we are in, we desire a leader who can structure, organize, build and lead a world-class infrastructure delivery team.
This is an exciting and demanding role for a Sr. Engineer 2/Senior Consultant who likes to work with cross-functional teams, has a startup mentality, adaptability to change, and a get-it-done approach to execution.
Work you’ll do
The Infrastructure Delivery Lead will be responsible for managing the team and project managing/delivering asset buildouts in the cloud. The delivery process starts from initial exploratory hosting calls to architecture review and finally to cloud infrastructure buildouts and project team on-boarding. The list of key tasks / essential job functions:
Lead the Infrastructure Delivery team
Manage one direct report and with USI counterparts
Develop best practices and templates/documentation (SOW, pricing calculator, etc.)
Track and report status of asset delivery from pipeline through steady state
Work with Ops and Engineer leads on delivering major assets, infrastructure changes, and resources
Handle asset team escalations and issues
Deliver and on-board asset teams onto AWS/GCP cloud accounts
Communicate I&P cloud hosting processes and requirements
Cloud and I&P costs
Facilitate discussions with Infrastructure engineers on architecture and best practices
Develop cloud hosting pricing, SOW, and on-boarding documentation
Work with Infrastructure engineering and operations to deliver account/infrastructure for asset hosting
Project manage complex asset buildouts and/or cloud migrations
Provide infrastructure information/perspective to other I&P teams (Customer Support, Professional Services, etc.)
Manage cloud costs
Work with finance to develop/review/process monthly asset cost trackers
Work with project teams on monthly asset cost questions/issues/changes
Resolve cost discrepancies
Manage and review I&P AWS/GCP cloud costs and credits
Develop/send monthly I&P cloud cost reports to leadership and asset teams
Develop cost calculators, including Infrastructure tools and labor
Resolve cost discrepancies, questions, issues, etc.
Work closely with staff in Infrastructure, Customer Support, and Engineering on projects, deployments, hosting costs, and process improvement activities
The role is within I&P’s Infrastructure team and works closely with I&P’s Professional Services, Engineering, and Finance teams.
Bachelor’s Degree in business/IT or equivalent experience required with a minimum of 2 years of experience in IT products/services, cloud hosting, and/or other related fields
Working knowledge in applicable IT/Accounting concepts, practices, and procedures
Experience working with multiple vendors and suppliers to negotiate and administer various types of contracts
Working project management experience and managing to timelines.
Cloud hosting implementations and/or cost experience
Outstanding computer skills a must, specifically with spreadsheets, word processing, as well as strong business solutions software skills
Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task, nimbleness and highly functional within a team environment
Some travel required (<10%)
Position can be based in anywhere in the US (prefer east coast)
