Job Summary: This position is responsible for developing and maintaining the food safety and quality systems (HACCP/PC/SSOP/GFSI/RedZone/Intelex) for the facility as well as training team members as needed in these systems. These systems are critical to regulatory compliance, customer complaints, quality trends and food safety.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:

  • Food Safety programs/Systems
  • HACCP (or PC for FDA plants) plan development, maintenance and reassessment is the primary directive of this role. This includes all documents and records associated with the plan.
  • Enable training of employees as required
  • Sanitation Programs/Systems
  • SSOP and Operational Sanitation program development, maintenance and reassessments as needed to ensure regulatory and CTI Foods internal requirements
  • Assist Sanitation as needed with tracking/trending
  • Enable training of employees as required
  • GFSI Compliance
  • Responsible for the GFSI compliance documents/records to facilitate the annual review
  • Supplier Approval program (Protein, Non-Meat Ingredients & Packaging)
  • Manage supplier documents for the facility’s suppliers (Corporate Coordinator will have the master files)
  • Manage COA’s for the facility
  • RedZone Champion
  • Be the facility champion for RedZone, ensuring conversion of all paper documents to the system
  • Intelex
  • Ensure all complaints, Supplier CAPA, etc. are loaded into Intelex in a timely fashion
  • Provide reporting as needed for trend analysis

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate years of experience in Food Science or related degree
  • 5+ years of years of experience in manufacturing
  • Deep understanding USDA-FSIS (or FDA, plant dependent) regulations.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication/training skills.
  • HACCP and/or PCQI certified
  • Deep understanding of GFSI standard
