Site HR Business Partner

Cabot Microelectronics seeks to hire a Site Human Resources Business Partner to support two critical manufacturing sites operating 24/7 in the Western United States – Pueblo CO and Hollister CA. This is a new role, created with a mission to improve culture & morale at these newly acquired sites, and to ensure our team members there have access to first class human resources support.

As a HR Generalist, you will be responsible for hiring and onboarding team members, employee relations, performance management including supporting managers with low performing employees, training delivery and local compensation & benefits issues. You will be a critical member of the site leadership teams, and will need to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and relationship building skills with all levels of employee. You will be the face of the HR department to the local employees and will be a critical bridge to the corporate HR and business leadership teams. You will need to be an effective advocate for your site, and for CMC’s core values. Key responsibilities:
Advise & support local site management on all people issues, making or recommending appropriate decisions
Formulate, build consensus and implement cultural development initiatives in order to support the evolution of CMC’s target culture on both sites
Create an environment of trust and self development, building effective relationships with all levels of employee; become the first port of call for employees with problems, not the last
Perform full life-cycle recruiting for manufacturing, engineering and technical positions, as well as other functional areas as needed; recruiting hourly paid shift workers is a critical part of this role
Maintain effective working relationships with a diverse talent network, including placement agencies, colleges, technical schools, and job fairs
Implementing strategic regional recruitment and employment programs
Operations execution including management of HR data, providing reports and people-related analytics
Drive diverse HR initiatives, including succession planning, training, compensation, recruitment, locally

Required Experience Qualifications:
Education – Bachelor’s degree required, analytical subject matter preferred
Proficient in Excel and with HRIS systems
Knowledge of relevant California labour law and regulations required.
Minimum of 8 years HR experience required, with 3+ years in a manufacturing environment. Experience gained in chemicals manufacturing or other HS&E focused environments preferred.
Demonstrated experience sourcing talent from entry level to management level.
Prior experience in a unionized environment required
Spanish speaking ability, as is demonstrated experience in multi-cultural work environments
Ability to work flexibly in order to travel to California (30%), as well as to support a three shift work environment is a key requirement
