Hershey Entertainment & Resorts is currently seeking a Finance Manager to join our team!
This position serves as a key partner and financial resource for Hersheypark management, providing information and guidance for decision-support, as well as monitoring compliance with all relevant policies and procedures. The incumbent must consistently apply capital policy to ensure proper classification of expenses (R&M versus capital), as well as regularly monitor purchasing activity. This position monitors expense trends, researches variances, and forecasts as needed. This individual will also be responsible for accounting period close, balance sheet reconciliation, and budgeting within assigned areas of responsibility.
Job Functions (Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):
Monitor, forecast, and analyze financial performance for assigned subdivisions of Hersheypark, with a heavy focus on Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) spending. Continually seek new and better ways to provide and use data to best understand and improve both operations and financial results.*
Monitor capital spending for Hersheypark; track and forecast expenditures versus budget. Serve as an internal expert to advise the operations team on interpretation of the Capital Policy, as well as review capital requests and transactions for policy compliance. Drive the financial aspects of the Capital planning process for Hersheypark.*
Perform month-end closing responsibilities for assigned areas, including the maintenance work order system. Prepare journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations; review and approve team member's closing work.*
Serve as a key support in the budget process for departments assigned as well as in budgeting R&M expenses throughout the division. Provide historical data in a format most useful to operations partners. Develop metrics to evaluate proposed budget spend.*
Continually evaluate processes and champion improvements, regularly partnering with Maintenance Administration in these efforts and ensuring operational needs are considered. Evaluate the internal control implications of all proposed process changes. Serve as the Finance system administrator for Champs CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System), ensuring accuracy of data and appropriate systems controls. Seek new ways to use the system capabilities to improve data analytics.*
Coordinate annual physical inventory of the Maintenance stock room as well as perform periodic cycle counts. Focus on inventory analysis throughout the year as well as physical inventory by monitoring activity, analyzing variances, and providing inventory variance analysis reports to management.
Provide supervision of tasks and developmental coaching of team members. Serve as the back-up in team member's absence.*
Perform additional duties in support of the Hersheypark and Finance teams.
Minimum of 4 years of related experience.
Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience.
Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel functions.
Proficient working with details on a daily basis for prolonged periods of time.
Solid understanding of P&L statements and accounting procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to effectively communicate at various levels throughout the organization.
Self-motivated, able to work independently with minimal direction, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree - Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Financial Management
Relevant work experience can be substituted for education - 8 years
Industry Experience - Construction/Maintenance or Amusement Park
Master’s degree - Accounting, Business Administration
Pre-Employment - Accounting/Finance certification a plus, but not required
Valid Drivers' License
