POSITION SUMMARY:

A Paralegal assists with substantive legal work for which an attorney is responsible, and the day-to-day needs of the attorney(s) he/she is assigned to. Candidate must have Business Litigation and/or Energy Litigation experience. Prior law firm experience is preferred.

Litigation Paralegal Job Description:

A Paralegal assists with substantive legal work for which an attorney is responsible, and the day-to-day needs of the attorney(s) he/she is assigned to. Candidate must have Business Litigation and/or Energy Litigation experience. Prior law firm experience is preferred.

Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with attorneys and/or client to take instructions, obtain information, report on status of matters and otherwise support legal actions
  • Must work with attorneys to draft and prepare all legal documentation
  • Analyze documents and records
  • Compile information, and recommend course of action
  • Be familiar with locating and obtaining Circuit and Magistrate Court records, maintain knowledge of statutes, count decisions and customs relating to legal procedures and practices
  • Conduct investigations as necessary, and other duties as assigned

Litigation Paralegal Requirements:

  • Must have Business Litigation and/or Energy Litigation experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Advanced paralegal certificate, or relevant job experience required
  • Must have the ability to perform legal research
  • Must be able to interview witnesses
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Ability to analyze legal documents for accuracy
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of legal terminology and principles

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $39,067.00 to $58,600.00 /year
