Job Description:
Cloud Administrator with NIH OD – eRA

We are seeking Cloud Systems Administrator to join our team supporting the NIH (National Institutes of Health) Office of Director in Bethesda, MD (Rockledge Drive Campus). The Cloud Systems Administrator is responsible for an enterprise grants management system and supports over 500,000 users worldwide on a 24x7x365 basis. In this role, you will be responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pr o v i d e s y s t em a d m i n i s t r at i o n , e n g i n e er i n g , an d m ana g e m e n t s uppo rt s e r vi c es f o r AWS C l ou d ba s ed i n f r a s t r u c tu re
Perform system administration tasks including systems setup, configuration, patching, applying security baselines and ensuring system compliance
Configure and manage Cloud infrastructure systems including servers, storage, virtual network, and various services
Work closely with Architects and development teams to develop, plan and implement application deployments
Develop and implement automated processes for routine system administration tasks such as system monitoring, rolling restart, patching, and other
Drive technical innovation and efficiency in cloud infrastructure operations via automation scripting and working with API’s

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Skills and Experience -
Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
System administration, engineering, and management support services for the Linux/Windows OS and 3 rd party software products
Solid knowledge of cloud architecture and cloud management
Hand s o n e x p e r ie n c e s e t t i n g u p an d m an a gi n g aut o m a t i o n s o l ut i on s u s i n g c l ou d ba s ed s e r vi c es s u ch a s S y s t e m Manager, Cloud Watch, or similar tools
Hand s o n e x p e r ie n c e aut o m a t i n g r ou t i n e s y s t em a d m i n i s t r a t i o n ta s k s u s i n g tools such as: Py t h on , A n s i b le, o r s i m i l a r p l at f o r m s and languages
Knowledge of cloud technologies to implement and integrate various infrastructure systems in IaaS environment
Experience with security risk and threat analysis, detection, and remediation
Desired -
AWS certification preferred
