OVERVIEW

Georgia Power is seeking an Executive Producer of Live and Studio events to join our Brand Creative Team. The Executive Producer is responsible for all aspects of planning and executing live events originating from Atlanta and other locations, including scripting, creation of multimedia assets, technical direction and delivery of live and prerecorded events through a variety of channels including streaming media, optical fiber and to live audiences.

The Executive Producer will own and maintain the company’s studio and field production equipment to include switchers, cameras, lighting, audio and other production equipment and is responsible for troubleshooting and repair as needed.

The Executive Producer also manages post-event editing and distribution of content and creates and produces other multimedia products for internal and external audiences.

In addition to superior technical skills, the Executive Producer must be highly organized and able to meet project needs and deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with the Photography and Video Team Lead to develop studio and field-produced live events.

Interact with and coach talent and crew in studio and live environments

Maintain and execute equipment to deliver live media feeds from the company’s headquarters to media outlets nationwide

Plan, direct and technical direct live events

Know and maintain the company’s studio and field equipment, providing (or contracting when needed) engineering services as needed for repairs.

Interview and select appropriate production vendors.

Responsible for maintaining collaborative relationships with a variety of internal clients

Develops multimedia products for clients as required, ensuring accrual to master brand

Review and post content in a variety of formats as needed

Implement and maintain the company’s new streaming media solution working with colleagues across the Southern Company system.

Establish and communicate production schedules as needed

Ensure work is completed on time and on budget

Serve as an active participant in department crisis communications preparations and activities (storms, emergencies, etc)

Participate in Corporate Communication department meetings and serve on work teams as requested.

Skills and knowledge required

At least 10 years industry experience in broadcast or corporate video production environment

Strong video and technical production skills including mastery of camera, audio, and lighting techniques, ability to direct talent

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated ability to lead a team in executing live broadcasting

Passion for engaging and unique storytelling

Creative problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills with ability to perform and adjust under pressure

Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines and budget restrictions

Professional experience in managing studio and production facilities and teams.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree or related experience in broadcasting, journalism or similar.

Minimum 10 years of experience leading an external or in-house studio
