PumpMan SoCal is Southern California s leading pump expert, servicing all pump makes and models for residential, agricultural and commercial, and municipal use. With complete design and installation capabilities, we can help repair or retrofit existing system, or design a new system that is ideal for our customer s unique well and water pump needs.
PumpMan is growing fast and we are looking to add a Project Manager (PM) to our Baldwin Park team. The PM is charged with successfully planning, controlling and managing project deliverables while ensuring customer satisfaction is met. Reporting to the General Manager, the PM manages the details of overall project schedules and budgets as well as the efforts of team members and third party vendors. Extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, and other members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products to customers is critical. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who can hit the ground running within a demanding, high performance environment.
Project Manager Essential Duties:
Interface with owners and vineyard managers to design, quote and obtain projects for drip irrigation and frost protection systems for vineyards.
Develop relationships with City Water Department personnel and their engineering consultants.
Monitor and maintain project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work. Reports status to both GM and customer.
Review engineering specifications and drawings in preparation to bid municipal water system projects.
Manage efforts of the team and communication with subcontractors for projects including design, purchasing, scheduling and supervision of installations.
Work at client site on a day-to-day or periodic basis to monitor progress of project.
Analyzes all bill of materials (BOM) and routing change requests to ensure that each level of the multi-level BOM is changed in accordance with the requested change and ensures that the change request is necessary.
Facilitates any discussions that are required to resolve issues relating to BOM and Routing creation and maintenance.
Provide technical assistance and pricing for telephone and walk-in counter inquiries
Quote repairs, replacement, or upgrades of existing equipment or systems
Communicate with in-house service personnel and technicians for efficient installation of equipment at the customers site
Select tools, materials and equipment and track inventory.
Meet contractual conditions of performance.
Review the work progress on daily basis.
Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to job status.
Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones.
Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
Perform sales calls, prepare written estimates and quotes for residential and commercial clients.
Identify, qualify and obtain new business in the area
Assist General Manager and Service Manager providing backup as needed
Bachelor s Degree, Technical Degree or commensurate experience preferred
2 years of sales, engineering or related experience with water pumping equipment and systems
Experience with pumps, filters, valves, tanks, electrical controls and construction preferred, will consider experience in similar field (plumbing, electric, construction etc.)
Knowledge of general construction, well construction, well rehabilitation, water treatment, vineyard frost protection and irrigation preferred
Excellent understanding of line shaft turbine, submersible and centrifugal pumps and their usage in wells or reservoirs for residential, vineyard or municipal applications
Proven track record of understanding customer requirements and communicating solutions
Clean DMV/Drug Test Mandatory
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills required
