About the Position: Works with the SHARP Program Manager and Command Staff to manage the Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) Program for the Installation Commander. Provides policy, guidance and other information for victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault, subordinate unit commanders, first responders, and those who seek to prevent or respond to sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Conducts prevention activities in an effort to reduce or eliminate sexual harassment and sexual assault.
Conducts response activities in the event of a sexual harassment complaint or sexual assault.
Ensures that sexual assault victim advocacy services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, both on and off post, for all service members and other persons covered by the SHARP Program.
Ensures sexual assault victims are properly advised of their options for restricted and unrestricted reporting.
Responds to complaints of sexual harassment, identifies whether complainant desires a formal or informal complaint, advises complainant of his/ her rights and responsibilities.
Plans, organizes staffs, carries out reviews and evaluates a positive management oriented SHARP program that includes efforts to resolve systemic problems.
Conducts studies, organizational reviews and workforce analysis.
Ensures compliance with approved SHARP training.
Establishes information and interactive, engaging training to ensure understanding of the reporting procedures, confidentiality and other elements of the SHARP program.
Maintains applicable SHARP Accreditation Standards, legal and regulatory requirements for documentation.
Occasional travel - Business travel may be required 5% of the time

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
Must complete 7 week Sharp training course and completion of all requirements to obtain DoD Certification within 6 months of hire.
Must possess a valid driver?s license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
The duties of this position may require the incumbent to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization.
This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Confidential security clearance access for the duration of employment.
Position is Emergency Essential in support of mobilization and wartime mission.
Employee must pass a medical examination and receive required immunizations for the overseas/deployment locations.
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
Incumbents of SHARP positions must complete all required training, obtain certification, and be placed on appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
The duties of this position require background checks to be conducted against all records as required by law, OPM, DoD, and Army policy and regulation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) providing policy, guidance and other information for a program covering victims of sexual harassment and sexual assault; 2) conducting prevention activities in an effort to reduce or eliminate sexual harassment and sexual assault; 3) Consulting with legal representatives, healthcare personnel, and law enforcement to assess the potential impact of state laws governing the reporting requirements for adult sexual assault victims; 4) planning and organizing a Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention (SHARP) program, emphasizing identification and resolution of complex systemic problems; 5) providing guidance concerning reporting procedures, confidentiality, training, safety tips and resources available to victims of sexual harassment /assault. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
