Summary of the Position
MAG is looking to fill a critical role for a Pricing
Analyst at our company headquarters in Fairfax, VA. This
position will report directly to our Director of Finance
and be responsible for preparing timely, accurate and
compliant cost proposals. The Pricing Analyst will
collaborate closely with multiple MAG Program Managers
and possible Sub / Prime Contractor finance elements
while generating pricing / cost narratives in our
proposal response to Government Solicitations /
Contracts. The ideal candidate will have an excellent
understanding of proposal pricing within the DoD and
related market segments, with a sharp attention to
detail and a keen awareness of current market
conditions. Further duties included concerning this

position are as follows:

Assist in cost estimating and development of Basis
of Estimates for cost proposals
*
Excellent knowledge of how to dissect cost / pricing
requirements out of a Government Solicitation.

Responsible for creating internal and external price
sheets
*
Develop cost volume schedules and supporting
documentation to justify cost realism/reasonableness
*
Works closely with Capture/Business Development,
Contracts, Purchasing, Human Resources and
Operations to ensure accuracy of cost proposals
*
Assist the analysis of Price to Win strategies
*
Participate in pricing review with upper management
and coordinate with senior staff to determine
pricing structure and strategy
*
Support proposal clarifications, justifications, and
negotiations
*
Contribute to the standardization of tools that
result in compliant/quality pricing proposal
*
Provide instructions for and support subcontractors
with pricing proposal development
*
Color team reviewer of other team members pricing
proposals
*
Assist in development of pricing strategies;
coordinate internal and external cost requirements;
review, analyze and compile cost data; prepare cost
volumes
*
Support post award program financials and contract
actions as required

Job Requirements:
Qualifications
The Pricing & Finance Analyst must be able to perform
all of the following to be considered for this position.
  • Advanced or expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to
interact with all levels of management
  • Ability to work flexible hours when dictated by
proposal deadlines
  • Proficient Knowledge of different contract,
solicitation, and agreement types to include Time
and Materials, Firm Fixed Price, and Cost
Reimbursable contracts.
  • Working knowledge of the FAR; ability to read and
understand prime contracts
  • Understanding of financial management concepts such
as funding, revenue, cost, profit, billed AR,
unbilled AR, subcontracts, consultants, purchase
orders, etc.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer service
and collaborative team environment.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related
field
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Cognos, TM1
  • Government Solicitations and Proposals
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and
weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
  • Travel is primarily local during the business day,
although out-of-the-area and overnight travel are
expected to visit other company sites – up to 10%
travel expected.
