The Graphic Designer is responsible for producing graphics and visual materials for a variety of media. He or she will use knowledge of design software to develop professional looking, high quality, and visually attractive art for internal and external publishing. He or she may be asked to support the development, engineering, or other teams when creative design work is needed. Creativity, flexibility, attention to detail, and strong time management is expected. Reports to: The Graphic Designer will work under the supervision of the Director of Creative Services. Responsibilities:
Conceptualize and execute a wide range of print design projects, such as advertisements, brochures, flyers, newsletters, posters, and logos.
Conceptualize and execute a wide range of digital design projects, such as websites, software interfaces, icons, and email/newsletter communications.
Advanced proficiency with common graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Document Creation and Management*
Candidate must have the ability to create and format professional-looking corporate reports, documents, forms, and presentations.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Candidate must be able to leverage the advanced styling tools of these business applications, such as dynamic formatting, style guides, automatic indexes, dynamic cross-referencing, variable fields, macros, and more.
Experience with iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) is a strong plus.
Experience with photography (SLR camera, lighting, photo editing, green screens, chroma keys, etc.) is a strong plus.
Experience with video software (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.) is a plus.
Experience with animation and 3D software (Adobe After Effects, Autodesk 3ds Max, ToonBoom Harmony, etc.) is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years’ experience in graphic design.
Bachelor's degree in graphic design, multimedia, or a related field is strongly preferred.
A highly creative and experienced designer with a strong understanding of good design principles (clean designs, color schemes, color contrast, typography, spacing, proportions, branding, etc.), and a focus on designing business-style, professional-looking products.
A reliable and highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently or as a part of a collaborative team.
Excellent time management and organizational skills with extreme attention to detail under set deadlines.
Ability to plan and design projects with either very minimal or very specific direction.
Ability to work with constructive criticism and flexibility, and willing to incorporate suggestions and feedback.
Meticulousness, imagination, and a passion for design, aesthetics, and high-quality work is essential.
A perfectionist who is not satisfied until their projects are pixel-perfect.
