Home to SXSW and glorious natural springs and parks, Austin, Texas is also the location of the new state-of-the-art Texas Department of Transportation Headquarters. We are looking for a project manager to join our award-winning team of communications professionals. This role is responsible for helping implement the vision to be a best-in-class in-house creative agency for TxDOT campaigns. This is a hybrid in-person/remote position.
Minimum Salary: 70,000.00
Maximum Salary: 90,000.00
Pay Basis: Yearly

Travel: Yes, 10 % of the Time

Position Description
Performs highly complex project management work to drive operational efficiency, effectiveness, and analytics for the Creative Services section of the Communications division. Serves as a Project Lead for special communications projects that support Creative Services' Design, Media Production, and Web Services branches. Manages strategic planning, procurement processes and tasks, as well as creates training materials, standard operating procedures, and technical and creative content. Plans and tracks budget, equipment, and resources to ensure the Creative Services section runs smoothly. May serve as a Lead Worker. Work requires extensive contact with department leadership and external governmental agencies and organizations. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.
Essential Duties:
- Coordinates Creative Operations Branch strategic plan, project plans and timelines
- Directs and develops detailed schedules by work breakdown structure and resource assignments for production schedules, including design, video, and online and digital needs
- Researches and understands key business challenges, customer behavior, target audiences, competitive activity, and environmental factors that impact programs within the Creative Services programs and projects
- Develops and coordinates Creative Services project budgets, schedules, work plans, resources requirements, and cost estimates and projections
- Coordinates and monitors vendor deliverables and performance and supports contract management and administration
- Develops, publishes, and delivers technical training, guidance, and standard operating procedures to support operations
- Manages projects that support the needs of the Creative Services operation, including research, analysis and procurement of various software and hardware solutions
- Monitors progress and success metrics of programs, campaigns and events and prepare detailed performance reports
- Coordinates the integration of conflicting programmatic and financial objectives into recommendations for branch management
- Works with manager and production teams to compile data for upcoming fiscal year budget requests or reports
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration or related discipline. Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Experience: 5 years experience in project management, marketing and/or business process improvement methodologies. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated part-time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis.
Licenses and Certifications: Certified Texas Contract Manager , Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Project Management Professional (PMP) or in one or more change management disciplines
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year working in a state government setting
- 1 year in an advertising agency setting
