The Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and support of a growing multi-tenant infrastructure utilizing application virtualization and VDI solutions. This position will work closely with other members of the systems engineer team to ensure the tenant environments meet all performance and SLA requirements.

In addition, time will be spent developing and employing capacity planning and monitoring techniques so that the vcpi systems environment can be accurately modeled and tracked. The Systems Engineer will be responsible for designing within industry best practices and serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert for assigned projects.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure secure, efficient, tightly managed and optimized, and rigorously monitored storage solutions in a multiple-technology environment
  • Ensure reliable, available, high-performance, and rigorously monitored server solutions in both server-farm and clustered-server environments
  • Ensure high availability and high performance enterprise storage solutions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers, leads and department managers
  • Demonstrated client service acumen and communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must demonstrate good judgment in managing resources
  • Analytical, independent problem-solver with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to take, transfer, interpret, and analyze information

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Experience using Microsoft Systems Center Operations Manager (SCOM) to monitor systems, and assist with server capacity planning.
  • Experience supporting Red Hat Linux a plus.
  • Citrix CCA or CCEA a plus.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Experience with large, multi-tenant engineering environments, preferably a managed service provider
  • 5+ years of IT experience in designing, implementing, and administering Systems in an enterprise environment.
  • 3+ years’ experience Microsoft Operating systems (2003 – 2016)
  • 3+ years’ experience Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop (release 5.0 – 7.6)
  • 3+ years’ experience VMWare, Hyper-V, or Xen Server
  • 3+ years’ experience with scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Shell Script, Python, as examples

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Hours of operation are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday; some off-shift and weekend work may be required as directed.


Limited travel is expected for this position.
