Role Purpose:
The Corporate Giving Officer (CGO) reports to the SSM Health Foundation- St. Louis Director of Corporate and Foundation Giving and manages a portfolio of corporate benefactor prospects.

The CGO actively collaborates with the Corporate and Foundation Giving team to reach team revenue goals. The CGO is responsible for meeting his/her performance goals and contributing to overall philanthropic growth. The CGO will carry an ideal portfolio of 100 – 125 corporate benefactor prospects capable of making contributions of $5,000 or more. He/she will have a strong track record of securing event sponsorship and corporate support by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and building strategic relationships with local and national corporations.

The CGO maintains an emphasis on sponsorship renewal and growth, and develops gift support opportunities in collaboration with the Director of Corporate and Foundation Giving. The CGO will steward all corporate sponsorships and refer corporate foundation opportunities to the SSM Health Foundation- St. Louis Grants Officer.

This position regularly communicates and works closely with other Foundation teams including events, marketing, annual giving, and major giving.

Responsibilities:
Makes face-to-face direct solicitations to corporations, by himself/herself or in visits with appropriate SSM leaders and physicians. These meetings cultivate and deepen relationships, gain insights into corporate giving interests and secure sponsorship opportunities.

Identifies new and lapsed prospects, researches them, evaluates their potential, and identifies the best projects for which support should be sought.

Raiser's Edge: Completes all contact reports and other moves management markers. Enters all proposals. Tracks pledges of and conduct research on existing donors todevelop timely strategies for next asks, or multiple proposal submissions.

Meets and/or collaborates with, and at times educate, foundation colleagues about effective corporate relations and the full array of corporate giving opportunities.

Develops content for, composes, edits and finalizes compelling proposals for annual and multi-year sponsorships and/or gifts.

Assists and supports the overall corporate philanthropic strategies for the SSM Health St. Louis region.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required.

Experience in corporate relations or development work that includes a concentration in corporate relations.

Understanding of the needs and interests of corporate benefactors in order to develop relationships between them and the Foundation.

Demonstrated ability to successfully build and manage many relationships.

Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills are necessary.

Problem-solving, research and analytical skills.

Able to see and understand the objectives of the Corporate and Foundation Giving team and to integrate their goals with those objectives.

Goal-oriented and ambitious attitude is a must.
