The Director of Marketing for Epilepsy is responsible for setting the strategic brand direction and tactical implementation of activities that will lead to a customer-centric and goal achievement culture relating to all things VNS Therapy related. You will be accountable for establishing and attaining strategic objectives and providing planning, leadership, growth, and direction of the Epilepsy Marketing Group. You will act as the critical communication link between the marketing, the sales force, and the internal organization, including our Upstream franchise team, Finance, R&D, Operations and Supply Chain. You will lead a multi-disciplinary midsize marketing team (including marketing managers, marketing communications, meetings services, and graphic designers), and cross-functional teams as required.
The best marketing managers will have a successful track record in launching new products combined with a pharmaceutical or device sales background (2 + years). You must have experience with direct to consumer (DTC) marketing and have managed a marketing team recently! For this, role, experience should include a combination of 5 years of experience, academic training in the areas of marketing, preferably in neurology, neuroscience, pharmaceutical or related disciplines.
You will get to partner with national and local foundations, patient and neurology support groups such as the National Epilepsy Foundation, American Epilepsy Society & and the EF of Texas (among others) to further relations and develop ongoing mutually beneficial projects and programs. You will also partner with the global marketing organization to develop comprehensive strategies that elevate brand adoption and ensure brand initiatives are aligned with overall global brand strategy.
Continue to evolve the field marketing promotion and education platform
Lead the development of product positioning, promotional campaigns, medical education, training
Metrics creation and design
Regular review of the business and quality goals and plans to assess the effectiveness of plans, strategies, and tactics
Work cohesively with the marketing team, sales management, and commercial operations to develop both demand generation and revenue forecasts on an ongoing basis
Resource Management - create the formal structure and activities necessary for the department to meet its objectives
A key member of Sales/Marketing Management Team to analyze, direct and review product offerings, competition and market strategies and programs
