Overview:
St. Luke’s Health System in Boise is seeking a Temporary Clinical Educator 3 to join our Clinical Learning and Student Services team. The anticipated need for this position is for one year, ending in March of 2023, with a required 8 hours per week.
With the anticipated large volume of hiring of new graduate RNs in 2022, St. Luke's is seeking a temporary Clinical Educator to help support the clinical learning needs of our New Graduate RN Boot Camps. These Boot Camps support the additional preparation that new graduate RNs require to be successful in their transition into the professional nursing practice.
Position Summary
The Clinical Educator 3 plans, supervises, coordinates and evaluates education programs for clinical personnel. Provides clinical education and evaluation to clinical staff and facilitates evidence-based research within a specialized area. (Note –this is a system level educator position).
Responsibilities:
Develops, implements and oversees the orientation and/or education of staff.
Designs or collaborates in designing system-wide educational curriculums, classes and activities.
Evaluates effectiveness and outcomes of educational endeavors.
Acts as a facilitator, consultant, and leader in area of expertise.
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
May provide input into the employee evaluation process, counsel employees and/or recommend initial discipline and other personnel actions.
Handles complex issues and problems.
Participates in system-wide needs assessments, plan, develop and teach to targeted audiences.
Subject matter expert in education theory and technique.
May serve as preceptor and mentor for Clinical Staff Educators.
Develops, manages, and evaluates educational programs, for the system, to meet regulatory standards and all related policies, procedures, guidelines, evidence, and Magnet (as appropriate).
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field
Experience: 6 years related experience
Licenses/Certifications: Current RN License in State of Practice
