The Small Business Operations Manager leads a team of 15+ teammates in Group Benefits Operations. The team is responsible for quoting, installation and responding to benefit questions and billing/administrative questions while adhering to established compliance and performance processes. Teammates build rapport and maintain positive relationships with both potential and existing customers, both internal and external, understanding their individual needs, personalizing a solution of value and creating a memorable customer experience. Accountabilities include meeting/exceeding performance standards for service, managing to quality, productivity and customer expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for leading & managing a team of Small Business specialists in a dynamic, fast paced team environment

Effectively supporting and driving operational results and leading the team through changes and new initiatives through effective coaching and performance management.
Meeting and exceeding service measurements, quality standards and customer service expectations
Leadership and staff development, demonstrates inclusive behaviors, develops & employs strategies to address staff engagement while creating a culture of high accountability.
Identify and solve strategic and daily issues by considering multiple variables and understanding the needs of internal and external customers
Supports enterprise initiatives, driving consistency in processes and participating in projects outside standard job responsibilities.
Use the enterprise core capabilities (process excellence, coaching and feedback, role clarity & decision effectiveness and accountability to demonstrate the Hartford behaviors and help our customers and direct reports achieve its enterprise objectives by living The Hartford behaviors everyday

Qualifications
2+ years coaching/mentoring and management experience preferred
Financial Services/Insurance experience strongly preferred
Group Benefit experience - Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life, Supplemental Life products preferred
College Degree or equivalent business experience will be considered
Demonstrated Management/Leadership experience
Proven track record of delivering strong performance results
Ability to build and foster a high performance team environment
Ability and desire to coach and mentor others
Strong interpersonal skills and influencing skills
Ability to communicate effectively across small and large groups
Ability to adapt and lead others through change
Proven planning, organizing, time management and delegation skills
Ability to work effectively in a structured team environment
Ability and willingness to learn needed technical aspects of the job
Strong business acumen and professional demeanor
