About the Position: This position is located with the Army Contracting Command (ACC) located at Colorado Springs, CO.
Evaluate the reasonableness of contractor's proposed prices through cost and price analysis by using accounting, auditing, forecasting techniques, improvement curves, and regression analysis.
Provide cost breakdowns and supporting rationale, including cost models, to determine applicability and price/cost reasonableness.
Review technical and audit reports on various cost elements, such as engineering, start-up-labor and escalation factors to determine the reasonableness of the various cost elements.
Evaluate and determine admissibility of proposed cost elements for firm fixed price and cost type contracts and recommends cost limitations to be imposed and the reasonableness of profit or fee utilizing the weighted guidelines approach, if appropriate.
Prepare a formal price/cost analysis report and support and defend the detailed analysis and conclusions reached.
Participate on cost reviews, peer reviews at all levels, special projects and other ad hoc procurement teams.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1. Developing mathematical cost models to evaluate cost; 2. Present cost or price analyses during negotiations; and 3. Evaluating cost and price analysis by using accounting and auditing data, forecasting techniques, and regression analysis. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service NH-II (GS-11).
In addition, applicants must have the following education to be found qualified.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees
At least 24 semester hours in any combination in the following fields; accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative measures, or organizational management. This requirement can be obtained with the degree or in addition to the degree.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.
