Bohler continues to grow and expand and we would love for you to join us! We are searching for someone with an outgoing personality and a knack for developing relationships to join our Permitting team as a Permit Expeditor.

Our permitting team works hand-in-hand with architects, construction firms, developers as well as various agencies across State, County and Local levels. This includes the Building Department, Department of Health, Department of Transportation and Fire Prevention in addition to others. Research and analyze jurisdictional development regulations to determine the effects of regulatory limitations on projects and anticipation of approval, denial, or conditional approval of development proposals
Prepare, submit and monitor progress of various permits submitted to VA/DC/MD area jurisdictions
Study, understand and update zoning and permit requirements for VA/DC/MD area jurisdictions
Design, promote and administer government plans and policies affecting land use, zoning, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation
Visit potential project sites
Prepare Site Evaluations and Feasibility Studies
Pickup and deliver time sensitive engineering and architectural documents
Other duties as assigned
High energy and assertive curiosity
Understand basic engineering terms and ability to learn how to read civil engineering plans
Ability to pass security clearance of local jurisdictions
Organizational and time-management skills
Educational background or experience in transportation planning, economic development, and/or urban design a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Superior customer service skills
Reliable transportation is required when company provided vehicles are not available and employees must maintain a valid driver’s license to use company provided vehicles
Employees are reimbursed according to applicable IRS regulations when using their personal vehicle on job related assignments
