Full Job Description
CACI is seeking a Strategic Communications Lead to work on a large US Navy Naval Sea Command (NAVSEA) program located at the Washington Navy Shipyard in DC.
What You'll Get to Do:
Act as independent lead in branding, designing and drafting materials to describe, explain and promote command initiatives, programs and services. This is the Strategic Communications Lead’s primary function.
Develop communication plans for all programs and initiatives
Create executive-level documents and communications to include briefing materials, PowerPoint presentations, issue/decision/point papers, manuals, marketing materials, reports, and strategic plans.
Coordinate the writing, editing, design and publication of the Command Administrative Services Annual Report.
Independently plan, draft, edit and create comprehensive communications and marketing plans and materials including SOPs, Wiki pages, Content Development / Maintenance for SharePoint sites, job aids, quick reference guides, command email content and implementation strategies.
Create, edit and format information for various media channels to include printed materials, emails, websites, and other electronic access points.
Contribute towards the development of Annual and Semi-Annual COMNAVSEA and Field Reports, Compliance Program, Online Training Communications, Communication Plans for other Command Initiatives, Scripts, Wiki Pages, iNAVSEA, iNFUSION.
Cultivate and manage customer relationships and provide creative and innovative solutions to complex customer issues.
Research, advise and demonstrate additional technical and creative capabilities to increase program awareness.
Create Wiki pages to streamline, simplify and centralize how communication is stored and shared.
Work with key internal role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the company’s strategy and in support of various brand initiatives.
Manage a team of 10 individuals comprised of CACI employees and sub-contractor: manage team goals and objectives; manage and report on contract performance; plan, prioritize, and direct employee tasks & deliverables; and work collaboratively to improve processes, systems, or products to enhance team performance.
Manage other duties as assigned.
More About This Role:
Excellent consultative skills to advise executives and senior level staff (SES, Program Directors, etc.) on communication and publication matters for assigned projects based on approved policy, guidance and directives.
Provide marketing for compliance program, online training communications, and communication plans for other command initiatives, scripts, Wiki pages, iNAVSEA, iNFUSION, and user guides/manuals.
Ability to draft, edit, and finalize executive-level products within prescribed deadlines and according to DoD, DON, Plain Language, GPO standards, industry best practices and customer expectations.
Exceptional Customer Service skills, and ability to communicate and influence key customer stakeholders and decision-makers.
Ability to effectively manage ambiguity and multi-task on a variety of initiatives and to work under pressure with tight deadlines and periodic surge workloads.
Ability to lead a team, juggle client delivery, and produce CACI management & contract deliverables.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
At least 10 years of experience with large command (10,000 person or more) strategic and tactical communications, front office services, content development and customer engagement.
Holds an advanced degree in related field
Proven experience as communications specialist
Experience in copy writing and editing
Mastery of written and verbal communication skills
Highly computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related business and communication tools.
Proven social media and networking expertise.
Strong ability to communicate professionally with and build relationships with customers, supervisors, and peers.
Must be detail-oriented and exhibit creative problem-solving skills.
Able and willing to collaborate in a team environment and exercise independent judgment.
Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task, organize work, and schedules
These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have:
Knowledge of NAVSEA strategic framework and goals.
Has experience in workforce and organizational development, public affairs, awards & recognition, event coordination and graphics arts for very large (10,000 person or more) federal organizations.
Time and project management skills, ability to interact with all personalities within a military environment, and demonstrated problem solving skills are strongly desired.
Capable of interpreting basic data analysis.
Familiar with SharePoint sites and development.
Strong writing skills, creative, out of the box thinker.
Story telling and script writing.
Able to innovate and think critically.
Bachelor's degree in communications and/or Liberal Arts with focus in communications.
