A growing aviation company in Klamath Falls is seeking an individual for an Aviation Line Service Technician position. This is an entry level position with advancement opportunities based on performance. Qualified applicants will be ambitious, organized, meticulous in job performance and pay great attention to detail. Self-starting and being productive while unsupervised is a must. An Aviation Line Service Technician is responsible for guiding, towing, parking, greeting and organizing aircraft that’s arriving or departing from the airport ramp along with knowing how to direct pilots using appropriate aviation hand signals. An individual will work in outside on the ramp, inside aircraft hangers and occasionally inside and around the office buildings. Individuals will experience various degrees of aircraft noise and weather conditions.
Duties include but not limited to the following:
- Marshall arriving and departing aircraft
- Fuel various types of aircraft
- Conduct de-icing for aircraft, as needed
- Handling of aviation fuels and chemicals, including maintaining quality control of fuel through various procedures and completing applicable paperwork/documentation
- Maintain fuel quality with industry standard practices
- Facilitate aircrew and passenger ground services, as needed
- Maneuver aircraft on the ground with tugs and tractors, in a hanger or on the ramp.
- Maintain company equipment and property
- Ensuring the accuracy of information through various means of communication (radio, telephone, electronic, etc.)
- Servicing aircraft lavatories, as required.
- Driving vehicles in areas congested with moving and stationary aircraft, vehicles and equipment
- Greeting pilots, passengers and crew members
- Ensuring hangers, tarmac and client areas are kept clean and orderly
- Other duties assigned by the Line Service Manager
Qualifications
- Must be able to walk 5 to 10 miles per day in all weather conditions
- Be able to climb a ladder with a fueling hose.
- Must possess strong customer service ability and good common sense.
- Previous aviation experience preferred but not required.
- Schedule will include weekends, expect 4 days at 10-hours with 3 days off per week. Opportunity for overtime and bonuses exists.
- Be willing and able to work weekends
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License, no DUI or major driving infraction in the last 3 years
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
- Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
