Title: Assistant of Treasurer and Secretary
Employment: Permanent, Full time

BASIC FUNCTION
The Assistant of Treasurer and Secretary is responsible to perform operational accounting tasks and support for Japanese Treasure and Secretary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Record daily operation financial transactions such as Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable and associated journal entries.
2. Issue Request for Proposals, confirm contract contents, negotiate for cost reductions, and support to the Secretary & Treasurer for the selection of Audit, Tax and Insurance professional services for all U.S. subsidiaries.
3. Improve internal control systems including standard procedures and creating an operation manual.
4. Perform month end closing procedures: reconcile the sub-ledger with the general ledger, record monthly journal entries, reconcile the Balance Sheet accounts, preparing the financial statements and create consolidated financial statements, reporting package, performance forecast for consolidated accounting to be reviewed and approved by the Secretary & Treasurer.
5. Perform quarterly and yearly reporting task to the Audit firm. Confirm Income tax data.
6. Complete fiscal year closing operation. Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards. Work with Auditors to complete the annual independent audit.
7. Complete and respond to government surveys as requested.
8. Coordination with accounting firms and U.S. subsidiaries for tax returns, including transfer pricing tax documentation, estimated tax payment, forecasted tax expenses and any tax issues.
9. Perform monitoring cash flow / performance monthly and audit in the areas of accounting and finance semi-annually ensuring compliance with company policies and related regulations and making suggestions / follow-up for improvement for the group companies in Americas. Compile consolidated packages and recommendations to be reviewed and approved by the Secretary & Treasurer.
10. Advice and support to group companies related to company operations, especially accounting and finance area as needed.
11. Prepare materials for meetings of the board of directors and general meetings of shareholders.
12. Perform any other duties, tasks, projects or assist at the request of the Secretary & Treasurer.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working in accounting / finance operations
- Understand ideal internal controls related to accounting and finance, and be able to propose improvements to other companies
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Proven analytical skills
- Ability to develop strong relationship
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- General Accounting Experience (consolidated accounting and consolidated tax return)
- Experience performing audits
- Work experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Work experience at H.R. Benefit, Insurance, or at Legal affairs.
- Work experience at Japanese companies
- Bilingual in Japanese preferred
Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
