PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Maintain inventory and ordering for processing needs. Work with Supply Chain to insure our forecasting needs are met. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate the day to day scheduling activities and maintain a master schedule of facility processes to ensure internal and external order fulfillment. Work with other members of the supply chain management group to identify opportunities to leverage existing capabilities and capacities to meet our strategic goals.
Negotiates prices, writes contracts for services and purchase orders for maintenance, repair and operation items. Analyze usage requirements to ensure the minimization of work in process (WIP). Coordinates with purchasing personnel on ingredients, & packaging supplies.
Assess and analyze production capacity and capabilities throughout facility in order to evaluate the feasibility of potential new products. Develop an effective yard management program for inbound/outbound shipments & storage units for location. Work with outside cold storage and other suppliers to maximize logistics efficiencies and develop least cost solutions for customer order fulfillment. Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly reports as necessary.
Physical Activities: Enters and locates information on a computer. Visually verifies information, often in small print. Communicates with Customers, Vendors, or Employees via telephone, in person, and/or electronic mail. May present information to small or large groups. Move about in a manufacturing environment, office environment, and surrounding property.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): As required by visiting facility.
Travel: Travels locally to facilities.
Technical Experience: 2 years in manufacturing with experience in understanding overall plant functions and communicating with leadership. Demonstrate excellent analytical skills. Basic understanding of the principles of supply chain management and understand how to apply them to the poultry industry. Proficient in the use of a personal computer, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel.
Industry Experience: Preference for poultry or food processing organization.
Minimum Education: Associate's Degree in Business or Poultry Science, or 2 years related experience.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business or Poultry Science.
