The High Point University Department of English invites applications for a full-time instructor to start August 13, 2018. Teaching load is 4/4 and weighted with sections of English 1103, HPU’s first-year writing requirement. Full-time Instructors are also eligible to develop and teach their own English 22XX (the gen. ed. literature requirement), First Year Seminar, and service learning courses. Other opportunities depend on how the applicant’s area of expertise meets the enrollment needs of the department.
Full-time Instructors receive medical and retirement benefits and professional development funds on 9-month renewable contracts. They have voting privileges and serve on departmental committees, but no research, advising, or university committee service is required. New hires will be required to attend orientation activities starting the week of August 13.
