This position is located at the Fitness and Sports Center on Patrick AFB/Cape Canaveral in Florida
Pay Grade: NF-0189-II Position Number: 07673

Performs a variety of duties in support of the day to day operation of the Patrick AFB (PAFB) and Cape Canaveral AFS (CCAFS) Fitness Centers. Assists the Fitness Center Director (FCD) and the Operations, Sports, and Program Managers in planning, developing, organizing, and executing a variety of fitness and sports events. When trained IAW AF guidelines, performs equipment orientations, group exercise classes, and/or individual program development for patrons, and describes use of cardiovascular and strength training equipment to patrons ton include proper positioning, exercise technique s and safety aspects. Serves as a desk attendant ensuring only authorized patrons use the facility and equipment. Greets visitors, answers telephones, makes reservations for classes or use of equipment and facilities, and provides information on scheduled events and classes. Provides facility orientation tours and basic instruction to patrons in the proper use of exercise machines and equipment. Issues equipment and completes required documentation for transaction. Inspects returned equipment noting damage. Inspects all equipment and facilities according to Air Force Occupational Safety and Health (AFOSH), public health, safety and fire standards. Reports equipment and facility discrepancies to supervisor. Operates point of sale system; receives payment and issues change for NAF contract services. Prepares daily cashier reports. Performs opening and/or closing procedures, hourly facility walkthroughs, and completion of assigned checklists IAW written guidelines. Assists in facilities, grounds, and equipment for fitness and sports programs and special functions. Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have at least one year of experience in developing, implementing and conducting fitness and sports programs. May be required to possess a Personal Trainer Certification and/or Group Exercise Instructor certification from an HQ AFSVA/SVORG accepted organization or be able to obtain one within 120 days of hire. Must possess a current American Red Cross Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification and a basic first aid certification or obtain one within 30 days of hire. Strong administrative, computer and marketing skills are desirable. Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs. and successfully complete a pre employment physical examination. Must read, write and speak fluent English and be able to communicate effectively with patrons and co-workers. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty to include nights, weekends and holidays. Must successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).

Veteran’s Preference: DD214 with honorable discharge. To receive credit for prior military service, a DD214, member 4 or service 2, must be included with your application package.
