Job responsibilities
- Triage and interview patients and document basic medical history
- Document patient care observations according to professional standards and procedures
- Perform or assist providers with patient procedures (sutural removal, casting, etc...)
- Obtain appropriate Approvals/authorizations for further treatment as needed by insurance
- Appropriately document all telephone conversations with patients including patient advice, prescription refills, etc.
- Communicate status of pending patient problems with provider
- Submit referrals to outside clinics
- Stock and clean exam rooms daily
Attention to detail, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and adaptability are all vital skills that aid in navigating a position with a fast-paced specialty clinic.
