Part-time: Production Center Assistant - Copy Center
Job Description: Assist with the coordination and production of college materials to meet internal clients’ needs; assist in other areas of the production center as assigned.
Assist internal clients with production needs assuring adherence to college policies and procedures related to style guidelines. Uphold the integrity of the college and the Lakeland brand through quality control measures.
Communicate with internal client and/or department secretary for project clarification and troubleshooting.
Operate production equipment including, but not limited to all copiers, spiral binder, cutter, cross folder, hole punch/drill press, postage meter, ConnectRight bulk and presort software/printer.
Assist with upkeep and routine maintenance of copy center equipment; contact service representatives for assistance as needed.
Assist with the production and distribution of publications and marketing materials, including working with vendors.
Transport college mail and materials (i.e., textbooks) as necessary.
Assist in maintaining the college’s prospect and outreach database as needed.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Perform related duties as assigned.
A. Education/Training and Experience Required/Preferred
High school diploma with experience in a production and/or educational environment.
Associate degree or coursework with emphasis in communications, business, marketing or an education related area of study is preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities is acceptable.
B. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of print production and distribution; general marketing.
Skills in oral and written communications and in the use of databases and spreadsheets.
Ability to train and operate all production equipment (all copiers, spiral binder, cutter, cross folder, hole punch/drill press, postage meter, ConnectRight bulk and presort software/printer.)
Abilities to learn and properly apply departmental policies and procedures, maintaining a high level of confidentiality; effectively communicate, meet deadlines; work independently and in a team; establish and maintain effective interpersonal working relationships; support diversity and outreach objectives.
C. Physical Activity Level
Medium – mostly walk and stand, lift up to 25 frequently, 50 lbs. occasionally.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a part-time, continuing staff position working 29 hours per week on a regularly assigned schedule (Monday - Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.; Friday - 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) with the availability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate coverage in the production center during colleague absences. The rate of pay is $12.65/hr. with non-insurance benefits. Non-insurance benefits include: Non-insurance benefits include paid time away (vacation, personal, sick and holiday pay) and prorated tuition.
