A well-established HVAC company in Queens is seeking a Project Manager for an immediate start. The company is looking to build a strong team and expand. Candidate must possess a high degree of integrity, attitude, written/verbal communication skills, loyalty towards the company and its employees.
Shop is in Queens, NY, most projects are based in NYC (some projects are in Queens/Brooklyn etc.).
The successful candidate will have the following skills:
Commercial HVAC Project Management: 10+ years, with knowledge of all construction stages from conception to completion, material and work planning including technical aspects of associated construction trades.
The successful candidate will be self-sufficient and estimate plan and spec HVAC projects (complete your own piping/sheetmetal takeoffs), compile accurate cost estimates, and prepare proposals/bid forms.
Successful candidate must have a working knowledge of HVAC system function/design, sheet metal estimating/sketching/fabricating knowledge and project management skills.
Attend Job Walkthroughs/Jobsites/project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as needed.
Ability to work independently to organize and prioritize work.
Review bid requests, plans and specifications, etc. to qualify projects for appropriate action, maintain bid lists.
Interact with subcontractors and vendors to verify accuracy of proposals.
Prepare estimates on multiple projects concurrently.
Upon successful bids, you will be involved in managing the office side of the project (prepare submittals, shop drawings, budget/negotiate/purchase/coordinate equipment/materials for projects, create/review change orders, close out documents etc. as needed) until project completion as well as bidding other projects. Work with project team as required.
Provide timely constructive feedback to direct supervisor regarding project status, risks, and concerns.
Must have working knowledge of all typical computer programs used in this work environment such as Microsoft Windows, MS Office (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook), printing, scanning etc.
Complete other duties as assigned.
The annual gross base salary range is $100,000+. Actual salary will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies.
Must have a valid NY Drivers' license with a clean driving record and will undergo a background check.
