The FIU Wellness and Recreation Center- MMC is currently seeking a certified personal trainer to join their team of professionals.
Personal trainers will demonstrate a clear ability to provide instruction for safe, structured and effective exercise classes and personal training sessions as well as provide safe and effective fitness advice to participants.
At least 3 semesters of FIU work experience or related experience outside the University with satisfactory or higher from prior student appointment.
Personal trainers will assist with the cleaning and maintenance of exercise rooms and equipment.
Must possess a strong working knowledge of basic fitness testing, weightlifting techniques, biomechanics, weight-loss intervention methods, coaching skills, and safety protocols.
Must possess at least 1-year experience in personal training and/ or group fitness instruction
Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills.
Must arrive at sessions on time, prepared with a planned workout for personal training sessions and/ or group fitness classes.
Must maintain a consistent work schedule.
Applicants must be currently enrolled as a student at FIU with a minimum of 6 credits as an Undergraduate student or 3 credits as a Graduate student.
Schedule based on class schedule and departmental avalability.
$15.00/hour to $25.00/hour based on experience and certifications
