Research Specialist position available in the Zhou lab - Department of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine
The Zhou lab (https://www.the-zhou-lab.com ) in the Department of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated academic hourly Research Specialist (~40 hours per week). The successful candidate will participate actively in the execution of research projects and ensure smooth functioning of the lab’s day-to-day activities.
Responsibilities:
- Perform experiments: cell culture, PCR, antibody staining, confocal microscopy, etc.
- Prepare reagents: e.g. autoclave PBS, aliquot antibodies.
- Help PI to maintain mouse colonies and genotyping.
- Help PI with ordering, lab stock inventory, and maintenance of lab records and protocols.
- Assist lab members for their experiments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in biomedical sciences or related fields is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 2 years of wet-lab research experience is preferred. However, recent graduates with a strong passion for biomedical research and an interest in pursuing a PhD or MD are highly encouraged to apply.
