Job Summary
The Controller will be part of the Shared Services group that supports the eight veterinary hospitals and will oversee all accounting functions, including general accounting, billing, A/R, A/P, financial reporting, cash management, consolidations, and taxes. The Controller will be hands-on managing the accounting team and implementing systems, controls and processes to prepare the company for continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all activities of the accounting department, including the month-end close process, accounting operations, financial reporting, payroll and cash management for the multiple hospitals.
Issue timely and complete monthly, consolidating financial statements. Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts. Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management.
Set priorities and goals for the department. Develop and mentor members of the accounting team.
Establish and maintain corporate accounting policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure conformance with GAAP and internal accounting and reporting guidelines.
Serve as the key technical accounting resource for the company.
Ensure complete and accurate tax compliance and tax accounting.
Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data.
Ensure accounting systems and processes are continually streamlined via process improvement and automation to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy in the level and timeliness of reporting.
Ensure that operational and design effectiveness of internal controls is maintained.
Support the CFO and owners on key financial decisions.
Enter inventory Budget & review reports weekly
Provide cash flow forecasts for Hospitals
Quarterly uploading of financial data for KPI reporting

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required
Minimum 10 years total experience including at least two years leading corporate accounting teams
Recent experience as the Controller or Assistant Controller at a progressive growth company
CPA and public accounting experience are a plus
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to maintain a team to produce quality results in an efficient manner and simultaneously manage several projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly proficient in Excel
Experience with Intacct, Bill.com or Paylocity preferred
