Reporting to the Controller, the Payroll Manager will play an integral role on the accounting team; working through complex issues, transactions, and projects independently as well as collaboratively with cross functional team members. The successful candidate will be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment interacting with all levels of our organization and external auditors.
Responsible for full-cycle payroll (not a portion of the payroll cycle).
Manage the processing of semi-monthly payroll for exempt employees and bi-weekly payroll for non-exempt employees in multi-state environment.
Maintains payroll information by designing systems, directing the collections, calculating and entering changes and data into ADP US and Canada.
Update payroll records and any changes in compensation, commissions and bonuses for UK and Germany employees.
Calculate manual checks routinely and/or on demand, such as for termination pay, etc.
Communicate changes for UK and Germany employees to UK and Germany payroll processor on a monthly basis.
Balance cash withdrawals to payroll register weekly.
Research and set up new tax jurisdictions for payroll tax filing with ADP group.
Implement ADP streamline in order to consolidate worldwide payroll to one platform.
Partner with HR team on ADP Workforce Now new module implementation.
Set up new employees in Fidelity and NetSuite for expense reporting.
Work with payroll processors to ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal and tax requirements.
Provide prompt, friendly and efficient customer service to employees who have questions regarding their pay, deductions or the payroll process.
Responsible for loading employee contributions for 401K and HSA.
Assist Controller with 401K and Workers' Compensation audits.
Complete all payroll, vacation and benefits related journal entries for the monthly close process.
Reconcile payroll account balances as part of month end close process.
Maintain and reconcile draws and advances paid account balances throughout the month and during month end close process.
Analyze payroll and benefits related accounts for unusual trends to ensure accurate reporting.
Maintain payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
Interact with internal and external auditors to ensure all appropriate controls are being followed and reporting is accurate.
Interact with external auditors during annual financial audit.
Coordinate with Accounting team on close responsibilities during month end close.
Provide backup to Accounting team as needed.
Ad hoc projects and account reconciliations as assigned by Controller.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field from four year college or university.
Minimum of 5 to 7 years of multi-state payroll experience.
Experience with full cycle payroll in ADP Workforce Now in a fast paced environment required.
Experience with ADP Workforce Now reporting tools.
Experience with internal SOX documentation and compliance, including the understanding of internal controls, financial reporting requirements and testing processes and procedures.
Experience with NetSuite (or equivalent ERP system) preferred.
