Job Description

I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

Operations and Communication:
  • Work closely with VP, FP&A (Des Moines) and VP, BP&A (New York), and Group Publisher, Luxury Group, on overall financial relationship between Meredith and American Express, as it relates to Departures license.
  • Manage exchange of information, financial statements, and ad hoc investigations/analyses, related to Amex requests.
  • Work closely with Group Publisher, Luxury Group, and publishers within that group, as well as sellers, on all matters relating to advertising revenue.
  • Manage Associate Manager, Finance, Luxury Group, who assists in these matters.
  • Manage advertiser, revenue, and sales rep/publication assignment information, ensuring accuracy.
  • Manage contracts, relationship and commissions with outside rep firms.
  • Work with Credit & Collections department to follow through on and resolve any credit issues.
  • Perform issue close process on all issues for each title, resolving any discrepancies with Production/Billing Departments to ensure accuracy of information necessary for internal reporting and forecasting.
  • Manage the Sales Incentive Plan process, including quarterly payouts to the sellers.
Reporting and Analysis:
  • Prepare reports for QSRs and Strategic Plans, providing necessary analyses.
  • Provide information and analysis on share of market, advertiser history, category, and year over year analysis.
  • Provide accurate historical reporting for Luxury Group advertising proposals.
  • Create ad hoc reporting to aid in shortfall analysis and to help identify and develop strategies for new areas of advertising sales.
  • Aid sales management in preparation for corporate presentations and review meetings, based on specific issues/goals, and in the preparation of reports for ongoing meetings with publishers.
  • Provide analysis on key advertiser trends and offer strategic recommendations - provide variance commentary on quarterly and year over year reports.
  • Assure internal forecasting in Salesforce remains accurate, adjusting to account assignment changes, rep changes, advertising type adjustments, etc. by managing internal forecasting system.
  • Manage spreadsheets for quarterly reporting by fiscal and calendar, assuring accuracy of links, subtotals, pub groups, etc.
  • Provide sales revenue reporting and prepare accurate commission calculation and payment.

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.

Education:
Minimum Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience

Experience:
3 - 5 years business management experience.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Analytical mind

Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Strong familiarity with Outlook, Word.

Knowledge of Salesforce.com preferred.
Effective verbal and written skills.

Proactive thinker.

Collaborative and work well in team environment.

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Great organizational skills.
