The Project Manager 2 manages all aspects of a project, from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. The Project Manager 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.


The Project Manager 2 designs, communicates, and implements an operational plan for completing the project; monitors progress and performance against the project plan; takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays. Identifies, develops, and gathers the resources to complete the project. Prepares designs and work specifications; develops project schedules, budgets and forecasts; and selecting materials, equipment, project staff, and external contractors. Communicates with other operational areas in the organization to secure specialized resources and contributions for the project. Conducts meetings and prepare reports to communicate the status of the project. Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and coordinates project staff to meet project targets and milestones. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

  • Manages projects that include software enhancements and mechanical/electrical systems
  • Participates in the hands-on portion of pharmacy engineering projects, where required
  • Spends 90% of time onsite and provides regular status reporting via dashboards and regular touch base meetings
  • Strives to become a subject matter expert on all parts of the automated pharmacy line
  • Ensures all projects follow the internally developed Engineering Life Cycle Model
  • Completes project close out activities including project reviews, documentation, and spending
  • Participates, where required, in Factory Acceptance Tests, User Acceptance Tests, and Go-Live activities
  • Participates in completing project intake, scope and charter documentation

Required Qualifications
  • Strong Technical Acumen
  • 5+ years of engineering or project, product, or construction management experience
  • Bachelor of Science or above
  • Detail oriented with a “Can-Do” attitude
  • Demonstrated ability successfully managed concurrent, complex projects

Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical degree
  • Experience with automation Software and/or Hardware implementations
  • 3+ years of engineering or project management experience in an automated production line environment
  • Analytical problem solving capabilities
  • Skilled in negotiation and expectation management
  • Experience with process & procedure development
  • Ability to analyze needs, risks and objectives
  • Experience with configuration and change management
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and convey recommended solutions to internal clients to resolve issues
  • Excellent communication skills in technical, business, and vendor interactions
  • Experience in mail-order pharmacy
