The TPC Stonebrae Country Club Agronomy Department is seeking to add individuals with golf course maintenance experience to the team. Successful candidates should have documented experience performing golf course maintenance activities including course set-up and both walking and riding mower operation. Individuals with similar landscape experience will also be considered. Ability to read and write in English and Spanish; or any other bilingual ability is helpful. Please include a resume.

Summary:

Under supervision, the Golf Course Maintenance worker provides support to the Golf Course Maintenance Department. This person is responsible for aiding the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent with various golf maintenance and construction activities. This position assists the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent in the successful growth, maintenance and operation of TPC Stonebrae Country Club.

Note: the distinction between these four levels of Golf Course Maintenance Worker is primarily experience and skills development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in the maintenance and construction of new greens, tees and fairways: activities include but are not limited to, grading, preparing soil and planting.
  • Operate motorized equipment including riding mowers, tractors and utility vehicles in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Operate hand held power tools in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Apply fertilizer, surfactants, water and pesticides as directed.
  • Maintain turf, shrubs and trees.
  • Perform regular maintenance activities including, but not limited to, changing cups, raking sand bunkers, tee placement, trash and debris clean-up.
  • Attend department meetings as required
  • Display a professional appearance and attitude at all times

  • Working knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in golf course and grounds landscape construction and maintenance work.
  • Demonstrated skill to safely operate trucks and motorized equipment.

Education and/or Experience

  • Previous golf or landscape maintenance experience preferred

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak one-on-one effectively to internal and external customers.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
