Description:
The Staff Accountant II plays a critical role in planning and executing the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close and reporting process of Corporate Operations Accounting team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to interact with various cross-functional partners, including Legal, Real Estate, IT, Procurement, Tax & Treasury, and others.

Key Responsibilities:
Analyze transactions to ensure compliance to US GAAP and execute monthly and quarterly close processes in SAP and HFM, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, derivatives designation and effectiveness testing. (50%)
Perform variance analysis, analyze financial statements, and prepare total company roll-forward schedules and footnotes to support the External Reporting process. (15%)
Assist in technical accounting research and analyze proper accounting treatment (e.g. lease accounting classification testing). (10%)
Identify and implement process improvements as part of Continuous Improvement initiatives (10%)
Provide support to internal and external audit activities including preparation of audit supporting schedules. (10%)
Prepare Sarbanes-Oxley internal control self-assessment testing and annual process review. (5%)

Requirements:
Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience
CPG industry experience preferred
CPA certification or CPA candidate
Solid SAP or ERP systems and process experience preferred

Solid understanding of US GAAP and financial statements
Strong analytical skills
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload
Ability to take ownership of issues and ensure timely resolution
Ability to work on cross functional activities and form solid business relationships across functions
Flexible, adaptable, and proactive team player
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

Education Level/Degree:
  • Undergraduate Business or Accounting degree. Skillset Required: Key Responsibilities:
