The principal objective of this role is to achieve ongoing improvements to Seattle Genetics overall supply chain operation, from supply to delivery. The person in this role will focus on ensuring an uninterrupted flow of specialized inputs with longer lead times to the Company’s manufacturing operations. The individual will be responsible for translating sales forecasts into demand forecasts for components, which will be provided to key suppliers on an established schedule. An important element of the job is to develop and ensure that Bills of Material are created, maintained and accurate. The individual will have leadership and administrative responsibilities for inventory management. Responsible for advanced, complex, production planning both internally and with global partners. Must have extensive knowledge across many functional areas and resources. Closely work with all internal and external resources to optimize drug supply availability and inventory investment. This position is a key interface between Quality, Regulatory, Logistics, Site management, CMC teams, Commercial and Financial organizations. This position must be able to build and maintain strong partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders and lead discussion, problem solving efforts and process improvements to ensure supply goals are met or exceeded.

Collects product requirements from commercial and global organizations
Converts sales forecast into demand requirements for downstream materials
Schedules product manufacture with multiple contract manufacturers
Continued development, analysis and maintenance of long range plan for production
Responsibility for balancing demand requirements with the contract manufacturer’s operational capacity and contractual requirements
Participate and provide input into commercial supply agreement drafts
Manage work-in-process activities for commercial supply chain batch release to ensure on-time delivery and/or address impact of delays providing direction for prioritization of changes
Determines material supply allocation
Responsible for execution of detailed planning requirements
Monitors demand against forecast and adjusts supply plans as required
Monitor regulatory submissions and approval dates to ensure appropriate supply is designated for approved regions
Lead effort to create short and long term planning tools to support product transition from clinical to commercial
Participate in the S&OP process for commercial products and provide detailed review of inventory and planned manufacturing through supply chain
Scenario analyses to support optimal supply strategies
Basic understanding of accounting principles for business/finance analyst interactions
Support SOX audits and finance team as subject expert in Inventory Management and ERP system
Monthly reporting of commercial inventory and expiration
Ensure inventory transactions are accurate and timely
As subject matter expert in the inventory management system, provide training to others in transactions

BS/BA Degree in a business or life science field and 5+ years of supply operations experience in production planning, scheduling, supply planning in biotech/pharmaceutical industry
Experience in a FDA regulated atmosphere
Experience in working within matrix organizations and works effectively with cross-functional and multi-location / multi-cultural teams
Exhibits creativity in adapting to changing situations, development of contingency plans and comfortable with making decisions
Excellent verbal and technical written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills are essential
Attention to detail and organizational skills are critical to success of organization
Experience working with an integrated enterprise level planning system. (SAP, Oracle etc.)
Works only under general direction
Independently determines and develops approach to solutions
APICS certification desired
Minimal travel (< 5%)
