In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of solution owners and analysts who are responsible for partnering with Business and IT to discover, define and deliver IT solutions. You will contribute directly at the project level through hands-on coaching and guidance of solution development activities and active monitoring of outcomes and deliverables. At the team level, you will be a driving force in advancing the skills and overall capabilities of the Solution Owner and Analyst team.
Manage a team of solution owners and analysts whose primary role is to partner with Business and IT to facilitate the discovery, definition and delivery of IT solutions in the form of business-facing software systems and applications.
Coach, guide and mentor the team on effective product roadmaps, release schedules, product / project backlog creation, feature identification / definition and user story creation and refinement.
Contribute to, monitor, review and coach project teams on the development and refinement of product / project backlogs in the form of epics, features, user stories and tasks.
Ensure project teams are aligned and adhering to "definition of ready" expectations for creating user stories and preparing for delivery sprints.
Standardize and evolve the skills, competencies and experience of the Solution Owner and Analyst team.
Lead and contribute to the evolution of project delivery processes, procedures and best practices.
Participate in resource planning and alignment of the Solution Owner and Analyst team to projects.
4+ years experience with Agile / Scrum.
8+ years overall IT experience with significant portion in software development.
Experience with a product / solution discovery, definition and delivery process.
Highly experienced in facilitating the definition of application development solutions.
Highly knowledgeable and experienced in the application of core Agile / Scrum and traditional waterfall software development frameworks.
Can effectively decompose an application / solution down into well-structured, groomed and understandable epics, features, user stories and tasks.
Experienced in constructing and applying user story maps towards the development of product roadmaps and backlogs.
Fundamental knowledge and understanding of software engineering, solution architecture, user experience / design and quality assurance.
Experience incorporating user experience / design into the application development process and, specifically, Agile / Scrum delivery.
Experience defining and executing a traditional requirements process inclusive of planning, elicitation, analysis, documentation, verification and management.
Experience with process flow modeling and performing current state analysis.
Excellent facilitation, organizational and communication skills.
Experience with Agile / Scrum tools, such as TFS, Jira and Rally.
Led or contributed in the transformation of an Application Development team from waterfall to Agile / Scrum a plus.
