Summary of Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the Director of Administrative Services, this position is responsible for the accounting activities and budget monitoring associated with the Representative Payee accounts for individuals served by SAM, Inc. This position has lead responsibility for analysis of balance sheet accounts and MA/Managed Care revenue and monitoring. This position will require experience in budgeting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing processes. This position will have direct contact with all MH/IDD individuals served in the Representative Payee Program. In addition, this position has primary responsibility for preparing reliable and timely reports for internal and external customers. Operations are conducted in accordance with all existing policies, procedures, and regulations and in accord with the Mission and Values of SAM, Inc.
Ensures accuracy and completion of accounting transactions posted to the general ledger.
Ensures expenditures for services are within approved budgets.
Ensures budgets for services are accurate, reasonable and are in compliance with established accounting policies and regulations.
Ensures accurate completion of the accounts payable processing and reconciliation.
Interacts with provider agencies to ensure compliance with contract and regulations.
Interacts with auditors to ensure compliance with contract and regulations.
Using superior customer-service skills, interacts daily with individuals served and/or their case managers in an effort to answer related questions, resolve complaints, and encourage independence.
Maintain records required to complete monthly cash reports.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Administrative Services.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance: or
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University with coursework in Sociology, Social Welfare, Psychology, Gerontology, Anthropology, other related social sciences, criminal justice, theology, nursing, counseling, education
A combination of experience and education may be considered
Case Management Experience Preferred

Required License, Certificates, or Knowledge:
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Knowledge of community resources
Computer skills to include spreadsheets and accounting software
Drug Test clearance
Act 33, Act 34 and FBI Fingerprint clearances
Social Security Card
Immigration and naturalization (I-9) clearance
Good oral and written communication skills
Microsoft Excel skills
In office work performing concurrent varied tasks.
