Pay: Salary + Bonus Incentive Potential | Hourly rate $18-19/hr. | Total anticipated yearly compensation between $36,000 - $75,000

Summary:
As an Outside Sales Representative at Race Communications, you will be instrumental in expanding our customer base and driving revenue growth. Your primary responsibility is to proactively engage potential customers through direct interactions in their homes and communities. You will serve as the face of Race Communications, creating meaningful connections with individuals and effectively conveying the exceptional value of our products and services to secure their business. This role requires excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as sales acumen to explain products and services, address questions and complaints, and provide effective solutions. You will also support Race Communications' mission to bridge the digital divide between rural and urban areas by promoting reliable, high-quality internet services.
This individual should be able to communicate and work effectively with external service representatives and internal team members who possess a wide variety of backgrounds, personalities, and communication skills. This individual should be able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving environment while maintaining a productive professional demeanor. This individual must be capable of working independently, as well as collaboratively with other Race team members across teams and levels of our organization.
Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum age requirement of 21 years

A valid driver's license, subject to successful verification through a DMV check, is mandatory

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required

Minimum of one year of experience in sales, outside sales, or a related field, with equivalent work experience in customer-facing roles required

Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce and Sales Rabbit) to manage customer data, track interactions, and analyze customer behavior
-
Increased customer base by 10-15% through the implementation of targeted relationship management strategies, resulting in improved client satisfaction and loyalty

Consistently meet or exceed monthly sales quota, achieving a target of 44 door-to-door sales per month based on market demand

Ability to travel moderate distances by both car and foot to meet with clients and prospects, daily

Willingness to participate and occasionally travel to attend sales and marketing events, contributing to the company's outreach efforts and client acquisition strategies

The ability to effectively communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension, as necessary for effective job performance and workplace communication

Proficiency in Spanish language desirable

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Outreach and Customer Engagement:

Sources new sales opportunities through door-to-door education of Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television services
-
Identifies, assesses, and understands customer needs and requirements to achieve customer satisfaction

Identifies potential sales opportunities, and generates interest and sales opportunities
-
Builds relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication (listening)
Sales Goals and Performance:

Meets or exceeds monthly sales goals set by you and your manager
-
Manages creation and presentation of quotations for opportunities as they are identified
-
Generates new business and promotes growth of Race products
Product Knowledge and Customer Service:
-
Gains and retains extensive product knowledge as well as detailed comprehension of customer's requirements for Race fiber optic internet, phone, and television products

Provides accurate, valid, and complete information when using our CRM and other software as provided
Documentation and Compliance:
-
Keeps detailed records of customer interactions, processes customer accounts, and files documents
-
Follows sales team procedures and guidelines, along with policies outlined in the Race Communications Employee Handbook
Sales Campaigns and Events:
-
Participates in sales and marketing campaigns and attends outside events (travel required)
Vehicle Maintenance and Travel:
-
Maintains vehicle/equipment pre-op/post-op to be prepared to perform required duties
-
Maintains a clean driving record as defined by the current fleet insurance underwriter
-
Observes hazards and reports any concerns or accidents to a supervisor or safety professional; participates in the investigation process as needed
-
Travels to multiple service locations across California and occasionally beyond, including during adverse weather conditions, while adhering strictly to safety protocols
-
Commutes extensively by vehicle daily, both indoors and outdoors, to visit Race clients’ businesses and/or residences
-
Flexibility to work overtime, including nights and weekends, as necessary

All new employees will participate in the mandatory 'Speedway to Success' (Speedway) orientation at one our offices located in either Chico, Farmersville, Lancaster, North Palm Springs, Phelan, Pleasant Hill, San Francisco, Tehachapi, and Yuba City, CA. The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary; you may not work full 8-hour days and there may be off days. Applicants further than 50 miles from these training locations will be provided with necessary travel accommodations as part of the onboarding process. Applicants 50 miles or less from these locations will be considered regular commute. For those working remotely, virtual attendance will depend on position requirements.
