Duties include but are not limited to:
- Perform meat cutting and preparation tasks according to established guidelines and standards.
- Cut, trim, and portion meat products to customer specifications.
- Package and label meat products for display and sale.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment.
- Follow food safety protocols to ensure the freshness and quality of meat products.
- Assist customers with inquiries and provide recommendations on meat selection and cooking methods.
Skills required:
- Proficient in meat cutting techniques, including deboning, trimming, and portioning.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety regulations.
- Ability to package and label meat products accurately.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure product quality and consistency.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques in a culinary or restaurant setting.
- Understanding of the food industry standards and practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy.
- Excellent knife skills for precise cutting.
Physical Requirements:
- have 1+ years cutting experience in commercial/retail butchering
- be able to lift over 50 lbs
- stand for extended periods of time
- be able to work in temperature controlled room.
- be able to work nights/weekends
