The Nest Solutions and Services group designs, ships, and nurtures intuitive and thoughtful solutions for the home that takes care of the people inside it and the world around it. We are a small cross-functional team in the early stages of building a one-of-a-kind service solutions for a new market.

As a Software Engineer, you will develop test automation infrastructure, and tools to ensure we have the highest quality solution services for our customers. You will have the opportunity to gain a breadth of understanding about distributed systems, continuous integration, machine learning and bring their knowledge/understanding about Mobile applications on Android technology.

Lead/contribute to engineering efforts from planning and organization to execution and delivery, to solve complex engineering problems in the development life cycle of Nest production Android apps and development apps.
Design and build tools and infrastructure to help engineering teams measure and increase velocity and productivity.
Build test tools that will improve the efficiency and test coverage of Nest iOS Apps.
Design and build test automation, tools and release solutions that are compatible with Nest's Android development cycle.
Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing and maintainability across People Services and Nest products.

Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
4 years of experience in software development and/or software tools and infrastructure on Android using any of the Android Automation tools.
4 years of development experience coding in Java.

Preferred qualifications:
Experience with one or more programming languages including but not limited to: C/C++, Python.
Experience with architecting and development of mobile test automation frameworks, tools, and performance benchmark systems.
Experience with building automation using UI Automator, Espresso.
Knowledge of Android development techniques and practices.
Knowledge of the Android SDK performance tools and optimization techniques.
