Our CLG Credit Risk team partners across the Home Lending businesses to satisfy our customers' ongoing financial needs by providing sustainable home lending solutions while striving to maintain a consistent and efficient credit culture and strategy.
This Credit Portfolio Consultant will be responsible for helping develop a fully integrated credit and risk culture within Home Mortgage and Home Equity Real Estate Portfolio Lending. Specifically this role will be accountable to implement and drive Home Mortgage and Home Equity portfolio credit risk policy and strategies, processes and programs that will help the business achieve optimal portfolio performance. This team member must effectively manage change and create a culture of “risk awareness” where all team members share in accountability. This individual will play a key role in the administration and communication of consumer real estate credit risk management activities in both Retail and Correspondent.
Key policy responsibilities include WFHM Non-Conforming, WFHE Acquisitions, Subordinations, Line Management, and End of Term Performing Amendment, with the following direct responsibilities:
On-going development of Real Estate Portfolio Credit Policies and portfolio credit direction.
Ensuring CLG credit policies are consistent with overall Corporate Credit Policy direction.
Participation and leadership in Non-Conforming and Home Equity Portfolio Loan reviews.
Leading and participating in the integration of Non-Conforming and Home Equity underwriting policies.
The successful candidate will work closely with business line and risk leadership across the enterprise. Accordingly, critical success factors will include the ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization and ability to develop partnerships with many business and functional areas.
Candidate must have outstanding leadership potential and the proven ability to build relationships and partner with the multiple Operational Teams in both Retail and Correspondent. In addition, a broad-based knowledge of the Non-Conforming and Home Equity business and strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to be effective. He/She must be a respected and capable individual and have the experience, knowledge and judgment to provide advice to credit risk teams and credit underwriting teams.

2+ years of experience in a risk role; or a Master's degree or higher in business or economics
Other Desired Qualifications
A seasoned Credit Portfolio Professional with 2+ years of responsibility in consumer lending preferably with experience in Non-Conforming or Home Equity underwriting, credit risk management and development, writing and execution of credit policy.
Demonstrated ability to manage effectively in a highly complex matrixed organization, develop partnerships with multiple business managers and provide guidance, direction, and management of the Home Mortgage and Home Equity Real Estate portfolio credit policy.
Demonstrated understanding of the credit life cycle including the underwriting/fulfillment processes through to collection and loss mitigation operations
Demonstrated ability to develop relationships and drive decision making through a consensus building approach.
Demonstrated performance in bringing stakeholders together to understand issues, solve problems and oversee implementation of credit policy changes.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple initiatives with challenging deadlines and ability to initiate work efforts in an independent manner.
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to thoroughly research/analyze information and recommend solutions.
Ability to assess issues, make quick decisions, implement solutions, and influence change
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Business knowledge of consumer real estate lending and regulations.

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
