Alion is seeking a Systems Engineer with solution architectural and software development background to join our team of innovative, strategic and client focused personnel. This person will interface with the client on a daily basis while driving the realization of the enterprise vision by supporting platform solutions across the enterprise. Applies advanced knowledge of IT architecture principles to identify and evaluate alternative solutions. Focuses on complex strategy and direction of multiple and diverse application/data/network disciplines on a variety of multi-platform systems.Under limited supervision, develops, operates and maintains a variety of complex technology systems. Participates in the integration of processes and methodologies to ensure the performance of the total system. Works directly with senior technical personnel and project managers in the planning and execution of technical activities on complex projects related to system and technical product development. Employs existing guidelines and instructions, guidance from higher-level engineers, experience, and independent judgment to plan and accomplish task objectives. Assignments may require the development of improvements to current techniques and procedures.


Develop and update reference documents such as System Engineering Plan (SEP) and System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP)

Develop Technical Reference Models (TRM)

Design, develop and maintain an office level database (MS SQL, My SQL, Postgre)

Prepare and review input to technical reports, status reports, letters, technical memoranda, contract reports and formal briefings. May author or co-author technical reports

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Familiar with cloud models (Private, Public, Hybrid, FedRAMP, C2S)

Experience with design and implementation of SOA ESB and Microservices

Experienced with all phases of the application development process

Experience in implementing DevOps and CI/CD tools

Familiar with AWS and Azure Risk and Compliance Program

Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

Excellent customer service skills

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology or Mathematics and 10 years of experience. Master’s degree preferred



Project Management Professional desired

Secuirty Clearance of TS level, with ability to attain SCI
