Verisign is currently looking for a Sr. Manager of Applications Development with primary focus on Oracle R12 E-Business Suite (EBS), Oracle OBI and Mobile application (Apple devices) platforms. Oracle EBS and OBI are key components of Verisign’s financial and HR systems architecture. All of the company’s financial and HR data flows through these systems, which consist of Oracle delivered modules and extensive customizations.
This position and responsibilities will be to align IT strategy and applications with overall company objectives. Effectively manage all internal back office applications development – including enhancements, maintenance and new development. Responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-wide systems development in an efficient and secure manner. Build and mentor leaders within development team ensuring IT-business partner alignment and the creation of business value from IT-enabled investments.
Monitors system performance and recommends strategies, best practices, system and/or process work-arounds for preventative maintenance or measures. Plans integration and implementation of new technology in Java, Open Source and Frameworks (or emerging technologies).
Takes responsibility and ownership for driving project and project teams from start to finish and responsible for planning, execution and monitoring of overall implementation for one or more projects. Provides direction/guidance for entire project or a project team, drives, leads, mentors and coaches junior developers and provides help/support with technical skills.
Prepares project progress reports for senior management. Discusses key strategic issues crossing department boundaries. Is recognized as a technical expert and provides technical leadership in multiple areas.
Is responsible for solving highly technical and complex problems for one or more projects. Responsible for evaluation of broader technical platforms, system wide architecture (end-to-end) and system impact in cross-functional environments and/or projects.
Keeps up with industry standards, best practices, emerging technology and also able to provide directions and recommendations to customers, users and/or senior management.
Prioritize and manage IT development activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time/budget, and with superior quality. Provide technical expertise, support, and guidance in planning and implementing.
Build a best-in-class IT systems environment that is scalable and will support organic growth. Develop cutting edge solutions that support the company’s strategies and provide a high degree of end user satisfaction.
Contribute to establishing and managing a Corporate IT governance process, working closely with senior management to align priorities and deployment of resources.
Ensure the integrity of all information systems and corporate information through the implementation and maintenance of established system management practices and controls. Identify tools, processes and techniques to improve efficiency and quality of the development group.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have extensive knowledge of IT applications including Oracle R12 EBS, Oracle BI, CRM applications development, operations and maintenance. Mobile platform development for Apple devices is a plus.
Strong knowledge and understanding of diverse business tools and technologies.
Ability to deliver a project from ideation through implementation using defined controls.
Extensive knowledge of Oracle R12 EBS, Oracle BI systems including at least one end-to-end implementation.
Ability to analyze, consolidate and communicate technical concepts to all levels effectively in verbal and written form.
Considerable knowledge of project management methodologies and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Sound knowledge of applicable operations, development, and related technical specialties.
Requires minimum 7 to 10 years of related experience with implementing and supporting Financial and Sarbanes Oxley applications, preferably in a high-tech environment.
Requires 2 to 4 years of applications development experience managing team of developers.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Technology or related field.
