Core Roles & Responsibilities

Human Resource Responsibilities

Interviews

  • Schedule and conduct interviews
  • Coordinate second interview with additional Manager or Operator
  • Meet with other Managers to make hiring decisions
  • Follow up with potential new Team Members

Recruiting

  • Attend local job fairs to promote employment at Chick-fil-A Ames
  • Seize opportunities when in community to recruit good people
  • Post job openings through online job sites (ie. Snagajob, LinkedIn)
  • Encourage current employee recruitment/retention

Reviews

  • Partner with Operator and other Managers to develop review templates
  • Maintain calendar of reviews due and completion dates
  • Compile results to share in weekly Manager meetings
  • Work with the Operator and Management team to coordinate 30/60/90 day evaluations of all new Team Members

Schedule

  • Track time off requests, black out dates and events
  • Maintain accurate availabilities for all Team Members
  • Partner with Operator and other Managers to schedule Team Members appropriately based on needs of the business and labor %
  • Ensure schedule is posted timely
  • Use schedule vs actual reporting to track attendance issues; communicate those issues to Management team and ensure coaching and documentation is taking place where necessary

Donation Requests

  • Develop and maintain monthly budget for charitable donations
  • Notify donation request contact of approval or regrets
  • Ensure timely execution of donation

CARES

  • Follow up with CARES calls
  • Track CARES calls to assess training needs
  • Inform Managers of reoccurring issues in the restaurant

Team Building

  • Brainstorm and plan fun ways to foster team unity – calendar of events
  • Plan bi-annual outings/events for Team Members and/or leaders
  • Organize holiday party
  • Celebrate Team Member birthdays and anniversaries monthly
  • Constantly assess team morale through observation and speaking with Team Members from all levels, increasing retention and protecting our brand
  • Communicate quickly and efficiently with Team Member requests and needs (ie. Assisting with uniform requests, relationships with other Team Members, direct deposit, etc.)

W-2 Distribution

  • Ensure all Team Members receive their W-2’s annually
  • Create checklist to obtain all signatures from Team Members who have received their W-2

Maintain Team Member Files

  • Audit all Team Member files two times annually
  • Follow up on completion of any files missing information during audit
  • Retain all former Team Members files for two years

Training Responsibilities

Orientation

  • Schedule orientation with new Team Members
  • Conduct orientation with a sharp focus on our commitment to service and on the culture of Chick-fil-A
  • Thorough and accurate completion of all new hire paperwork
  • Reinforce critical components of Team Member Handbook
  • Partner new Team Members with Team Trainers to learn job skills

Team Trainers

  • Identify (with input of Management team) potential Team Trainers
  • Communicate and supervise Team Trainer Development
  • Ensure that Team Trainers are certified on operational accuracy and that they have the ability to train others effectively
  • Coordinate and schedule Trainer meetings at least once per quarter
  • Hold Team Trainers accountable for operational excellence, following training processes and effectively training Team Members. Provide feedback as necessary.
  • Ensure that all Team Trainers are recertified annually in all eTrain modules in which they work and train
  • Receive feedback on training from Team Trainers and communicate results and additional training needs to the management team and/or scheduler as appropriate

Training Materials

  • Keep materials organized and up to date
  • Inform Managers and Team Members of changes in procedures

Ongoing Training

  • Monitor training needs in the restaurant through eRQA, CARES, Steritech audits, Safe Daily Critical, Manager feedback and observation
  • Communicate training needs to Managers and Team Trainers
  • Spend one on one time with Team Members where additional training time is needed
  • Ensure completion of training of all Team Members in the event of a new product rollout
  • Assist leadership team in developing current Team Members who desire growth and development; looking within for promotions, etc.

Recertification

  • Work with the Management team to create a process for annual recertification of all Team Members in eTrain modules designated for their job
  • Schedule recertification for Team Members on a monthly basis
  • Ensure that Team Member recertification is completed by Team Trainers as scheduled and in a timely manner
  • Communicate recertification results to leadership team and training team
  • Address gaps in the training process identified by recertification results

Uniforms

  • Order uniforms for new Team Members
  • Collect uniforms from Team Members who are no longer working with us
  • Ensure uniforms are clean and in good condition
  • Order and distribute uniforms to current Team Members with uniform needs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; or 1-3 years in Human Resources or Customer Service
  • Work a minimum of 40 hours per week in the restaurant – including evenings, weekends and holidays (limited hours on most holidays)
  • Combine critical thinking and practical leadership to create a culture of innovation
  • Effectively coach and give direction
  • Align hiring, training and evaluation practices with the vision of the restaurant
  • Enthusiastically and passionately lead the team
  • Be well-versed in all Chick-fil-A procedures

Salary: $15.00 to $18.00 /hour
