Required skills and qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field from an accredited college or university preferred

  • LPN or RN preferred* Two years of senior living sales experience, preferrably in skilled nursing.
  • Must be familiar with the hospitals in the local market.
  • Must have strong business development & assessment skills.* Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office and database systems * Ability to effectively listen and communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Team player with industry knowledge

Responsibilities
Provides strategy, support and vision to the Sales & Marketing Directors in a specified Market Area (MA) and skilled nursing communities to achieve sales and occupancy goals through effective Business Development within specified hospital and healthcare-focused accounts. Sets an example by organization, follow-up and brainstorming ideas with marketing teams to maintain occupancy goals throughout Market Area. Represents the company as the leader in Senior Living to all referral sources. Keeps abreast of any competitor issues that would affect occupancy in the market. Generates referrals from key hospital accounts to Brookdale communities, particularly assigned skilled nursing and Assisted Living communities.

Supports Marketing Teams with a positive attitude and professionalism. Builds effective relationships with prospects, residents, and sales teams. Partners with marketing teams on the development of action plans that will assist in maintaining occupancy goals throughout the marketing area.Communicates daily with communities to understand who has been discharged to a hospital so that immediate visits and contact with case managers can be made.Visits local hospitals on a daily/weekly basis for all assigned communities; keeps Brookdale community abreast of resident's anticipated community return date.Provides timely follow up with hospitalized Brookdale residents to ensure smooth transition back to Brookdale community, including appropriate product and level of care. Ensures all original assessments are returned to the community so they can become part of the resident's medical records.Communicates new leads to appropriate community with clinical documentation needed for admission.Conducts presentations with hospital case managers, physicians, and other medical professionals as required.Reports any customer service issues that occur at the hospital to Executive Director or Healthcare Administrator at community.Logs all assessments and outcomes (move-ins, denials, etc) and provides to community sales team and Regional Sales & Marketing Director in order to assist in identifying any service areas that are being missed.Maintains all professional contacts and scheduled visits in the sales prospecting system.Drives skilled Medicare census to skilled nursing communities to increase census mix.Communicates upcoming weekly schedule to community operations and sales teams. Sets and adheres to weekly calls with Regional Sales and Marketing Director.

Qualifications
Education and ExperienceRN, LPN or Bachelor's degree and minimum of three to five years sales experience in related industry.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special RequirementsRN or LPN desired, but not required if background includes healthcare. Frequent car travel requires the incumbent to possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a reliable car. Ability to work some evenings/weekends and travel frequently. Home office required. Effective organizational tools required.

Management/Decision MakingApplies existing guidelines and procedures to make varied decisions within a department. Uses sound judgment and experience to solve moderately complex problems based on precedent, example, reasonableness or a combination of these.

Knowledge and SkillsPossesses extensive knowledge of a distinct skill or function and a thorough understanding of the organization and work environment. Has working knowledge of a functional discipline. Ability to use computers is required. Windows environment computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc., preferred). Effective written and oral communication skills are essential. Ability to travel around work site and around the community is required. Ability to facilitate complex problem solving. Excellent organizational skills are a must. Ability to work through difficult issues with team members.
